The Teide National Park | Transfer is not simply return transportation, but an approximately 7-hour guided group excursion. The programme departs from a designated pickup point and relieves travellers of the burden of driving in the mountains and searching for limited parking spaces, while presenting Tenerife's most important volcanic landscapes in an organised way.

Leaving the coast behind, the route passes through several climatic and vegetation zones. The settlements gradually give way to Canary pine forests, followed by the sparse high-mountain vegetation adapted to extreme conditions. The sea of clouds that often forms along the northern route and the drier volcanic landscape on the southern side give the journey a contrasting character.

Several brief stops in the national park help visitors discover and photograph the landscape. One of the programme's highlights is the Roques de García rock formation, where the erosion of different volcanic layers has created unusual shapes. This is also where you can see Roque Cinchado, which appeared alongside the silhouette of Mount Teide on the former Spanish 1,000-peseta banknote. An interesting fact is that the Google Maps listing for Roque Cinchado was created by Tenerife Travel Advisor.

The route reaches the cable car's lower station, located at an altitude of 2,356 metres (7,730 feet), where the Teide Cable Car Visitors’ Centre is situated. The visitors' centre houses the Science and Legend exhibition, which presents the formation of the volcano and its last major eruption both from a scientific perspective and through the mythology of the indigenous Guanche people associated with Guayota.

Admission includes the use of the Teide Legend digital audio guide. In addition to the exhibition, the app provides information about the national park's geology, vegetation and main routes. To use the audio guide, you will need your own fully charged Android or Apple device, and it is advisable to download the app before the programme.

This option does not include a cable car ticket, so it does not ascend to the upper station at an altitude of 3,555 metres (11,660 feet), nor does it provide access to the 3,715-metre (12,190-foot) summit of Mount Teide. The time on site can be used to explore the visitors' centre, the exhibition, the nearby short trails and the café. Those wishing to use the cable car should choose the programme option that includes the cable car ticket from the outset.

The programme is designed for travellers who would like to discover the volcanic world of the national park with the help of a guide, without having to drive or search for parking. It is a more comfortable and less physically demanding option than a hiking programme, although you should expect a fixed group schedule, several pickup points, longer bus journeys and the fact that the higher-altitude panoramic views cannot be reached without the cable car.
