Submarine Safaris gives you the opportunity to discover Tenerife's underwater world aboard a real submarine - without diving, swimming or getting into any wet gear. The dive reveals the Atlantic Ocean from a unique perspective, while you can watch everything happening around you from a dry, comfortable cabin throughout the entire experience.
The submarine departs from Amarilla Marina and then gradually descends below the surface of the ocean. Of the approximately 55-minute experience, around 40 minutes are spent underwater, reaching the volcanic seabed at a depth of approximately 25-30 metres (82-98 ft). The descent itself is already an exciting experience as the light from the surface gradually changes and an entirely different world opens up before you.
The enclosed, pressurised passenger cabin is most similar to a spacious aircraft cabin. Through the large windows, you can observe the fish in the area, the formations of the volcanic seabed and underwater shipwrecks. The experience is not a zoo-style display: you can see the natural marine life of the Atlantic Ocean in its own environment.
The experience is a particularly good option for those who are curious about the depths of the ocean but do not want to or cannot go diving. No swimming ability, diving knowledge or special equipment is required, allowing different generations of the family to experience the dive together.
Audio commentary available in several languages helps you understand what you are seeing through the windows. This makes the dive not only visually impressive but also an informative discovery that brings you closer to Tenerife's volcanic origins and the marine life of the Atlantic Ocean.
Submarine Safaris is ideal if you are looking for a special family experience, are interested in underwater nature, or would like to discover the ocean from a perspective that remains inaccessible to most travellers. Thanks to its approximately one-hour duration, it is easy to fit into your day while still providing a complete, self-contained experience.
