ARTlandya is a great choice for those who are looking beyond Tenerife's best-known attractions and would also like to discover something rarer, more valuable and more memorable. It is not a quick photo stop, but an experience worth giving your time and attention to.
ARTlandya is one of Europe's most extraordinary private museums, located near Santa Bárbara in the municipality of Icod de los Vinos. This is not a traditional doll exhibition: it features handcrafted contemporary art dolls, teddy bears and glass objects created by international artists and presented to an exceptionally high professional standard.
The value and uniqueness of the collection are outstanding even by European standards. The exhibited pieces are not toys, but intricately crafted, one-of-a-kind works of art - made from porcelain, papier-mâché, vinyl, wax, ceramics, textiles, felt and other materials. During your visit, you can also gain an insight into the world of handcrafted production, making it easier to understand how much time, technical expertise and precision are required to create each individual piece.
Those who are open to this world quickly realise that this is no ordinary attraction.
The museum is set within the grounds of an old country estate, spread across several buildings and surrounded by a tropical garden with palm trees, citrus trees and flowers, as well as views towards Mount Teide and the ocean. The atmosphere of the visit is quieter and more personal, but the content is exceptionally rich: behind the exhibition lies serious collecting work, specialist knowledge and remarkable craftsmanship.
