FlyX shows Tenerife from a completely different perspective for those who would love to see the island’s spectacular landscapes from above while also learning more about its volcanic origins, history and culture. Located in Costa Adeje, this fully indoor 5D experience condenses all of this into approximately 30 minutes, making it easy to fit into almost any day of your holiday.
The first part of the experience is a short introductory film. Over approximately 12-15 minutes, you will discover Tenerife’s volcanic formation, geological features, history, culture and lesser-known landscapes. This part does more than simply introduce the visuals - it also helps you see the island from a different perspective during the minutes that follow.
Then comes the most distinctive part of FlyX: an approximately 15-minute virtual flight. The large-scale immersive projection and seats that move in sync with the images create the sensation of travelling above Tenerife’s landscapes. Cliffs, wild coastlines, deep valleys, forests and ancient volcanic areas appear beneath you, including places that are difficult or even impossible to reach by road.
The visuals are complemented by carefully integrated sensory effects. The moving seats follow the direction of the flight, wind effects enhance the sensation of travelling through the air, and different landscapes are accompanied by scents. The aim is not to create a wild rollercoaster experience: the movements are deliberately smooth and controlled, without sudden drops or extreme motions.
It can be an especially good choice for families and for several generations travelling together. The entire program can be enjoyed while seated and does not require significant physical effort. This means you can share the experience without committing to a long hike, drive or full-day excursion.
One of FlyX’s greatest advantages is its simplicity. Located in the air-conditioned, indoor environment of The Duke Shops, it can be a good choice for a hot afternoon, a windier day or when you are looking for something shorter yet worthwhile between two longer outdoor programs. It does not replace exploring Tenerife in person - instead, it adds a completely new perspective.
