OVERVIEW
On the Buggy Safari, you do not simply explore Tenerife as a passenger: from behind the wheel of an open, automatic buggy, you can enjoy winding mountain roads, varied volcanic landscapes and the freedom of driving. Several different routes are available, allowing you to experience the panoramic views of Teide, the atmosphere of a sunset tour or genuine off-road driving.

The 3-hour Teide National Park tour starts in Tamaimo and follows spectacular mountain roads towards the interior of the island. During the tour, you can reach an altitude of approx. 2,400 m (7,875 ft), where dark lava fields, pale volcanic rocks and the vast mountain landscape of Teide reveal a completely different side of Tenerife from the coastal resorts.

The sunset version combines the same extraordinary mountain scenery with atmospheric evening light. As the sun sinks lower, the colours of the volcanic landscape continuously change, while in clear weather the sea of clouds and the ocean horizon may also become part of the panorama. This tour is a particularly attractive choice for couples and anyone wishing to combine the driving experience with a spectacular evening atmosphere.

If you would also like to experience the buggy’s off-road capabilities, you can choose between two off-road activities. The 2-hour tour includes an off-road section lasting approx. 45 minutes, with climbs, descents, bends and uneven terrain. The 4-hour version combines the volcanic landscapes of Teide with a full off-road section lasting approx. 1 hour, bringing panoramic scenery and more dynamic driving together in a single activity.

No previous experience is required to operate the automatic buggies. Before departure, you will receive a short safety briefing and instructions on how to operate the vehicle, after which you will set off in a convoy led by the tour guide. If two adults who are both eligible to drive are travelling in the same buggy, they may switch drivers at a suitable point during the activity.

Several stops along the routes allow you to enjoy the scenery at a relaxed pace and take photographs. The provider may also take professional photos and videos during the tour, so you do not need to handle your phone while driving. It is recommended to ask about the current prices and exactly how the recordings will be provided on site.

The activity is particularly suitable for anyone wishing to combine Tenerife’s natural attractions with the pleasure of driving. Thanks to the different durations and routes, you can choose a shorter activity focused specifically on off-road driving, a scenic Teide tour or a longer option combining both experiences.
