The Banana is a water activity that takes place on a long inflatable device towed by a motorboat. Participants sit one behind the other and hold on as the banana bounces, turns and moves over the ocean waves behind the motorboat.
Up to 12 participants can sit on the device at the same time, which makes the experience particularly enjoyable when shared. It is a good choice for families, groups of friends and larger groups, but the booking itself does not make it a private activity.
The activity begins with a safety briefing and the fitting of the mandatory life jacket. This is followed by a short motorboat ride to the inflatable banana, where the staff help participants get into position before the approximately 10-minute tow begins.
The speed, waves and turns keep the device constantly moving, so participants need to hold on tightly. Getting completely wet is practically unavoidable, and falling into the ocean is also a realistic part of the activity; in this case, the support crew help participants get back onto the device.
The entire activity lasts approximately 45 minutes, of which the actual banana boat ride takes approximately 10 minutes. This is therefore not a long ocean excursion, but a short, intense water experience that can easily be included in a day at the beach.
The activity is available from Puerto Colón, as well as from Troya, Torviscas and Fañabé beaches. The exact meeting point must always be located using the booking confirmation, while the selected time and departure point are subject to confirmation by the provider, as well as suitable weather and ocean conditions.
It is ideal for those looking for a short, active water experience that can be shared with others and who do not mind getting completely wet. This experience can be completed without any previous experience, although it requires a firm grip, suitable physical condition and tolerance of stronger jolts.
