• you are interested in how grain, hops, yeast and water are turned into beer
• you would like to compare four different house beers
• you are attracted to local, long-established small businesses
• you are looking for a worthwhile gastronomic programme that does not take up the whole day
• you would like to visit with your partner, friends or a smaller group

WHO DO WE NOT RECOMMEND IT FOR?
This is not the right programme if:
• you do not like the taste or aroma of beer or the distinctive environment of breweries
• you do not drink alcohol and the experience would not feel complete to you without the tasting
• you are looking for a standalone gastronomic programme for a participant under the age of 18
• you expect unlimited beer consumption, a noisy social programme or a party atmosphere

The TACOA brewery tour and craft beer tasting shows how small-batch beers are made in a working brewery, from selecting the ingredients all the way to the finished drink. Founded in 2001, TACOA was the first microbrewery and brewery restaurant in the Canary Islands and is currently considered the second-oldest craft brewery still operating in Spain.

During the guided tour, you can learn about the history of the brewery and the main stages of beer production. The presentation covers the milling of the grain, mashing, the role of hops, fermentation, maturation and bottling, among other processes. This is not a museum presentation designed for spectacle, but an insight into the daily life of a genuinely working small brewery.

The tour is followed by a guided tasting of four different house beers. The aim is not to consume large quantities, but to compare the colour, aroma, flavour and character of the different beer styles. The beers tasted may vary depending on the current selection.

Depending on the package selected, the beer tasting can be booked on its own, with a selection of Canarian cheeses or with lunch. The cheese selection complements the flavours of the different beers, while the lunch option may be a better choice for those who would like a more complete gastronomic experience. A vegan alternative is also available for the cheese package upon advance request.

The brewery also has a restaurant and its own shop, where additional TACOA beers and branded products can be purchased. A large mural by graffiti artist Iker Muro can also be seen at the venue, but the clear focus of the programme is brewing and tasting.

The guided brewery tour lasts approximately 50-60 minutes, although the full programme may take longer depending on the package selected and the length of the meal. The programme provides a truly worthwhile experience if the participant has at least a basic understanding of the selected foreign language used for the guided tour.

It is intended for those who enjoy craft beers and are also curious about what happens before bottling. This experience provides meaningful insight into the history and work of a Canarian brewery that has been operating for more than twenty years in a short amount of time, while it is important to understand that this is not unlimited drinking or a noisy beer-drinking session, but a guided, informative tasting.
